Presidential hopeful Donald Trump visited UW-Eau Claire Tuesday, just one week before the national

election. Supporters and protesters alike combined for a crowd of about 5,000 people who gathered outside Zorn Arena.
Some arrived as early as 7:30 a.m. for Trump’s speech scheduled at 6 p.m.
Campus parking lots overflowed with supporters from as far away as Minnesota and Iowa. Vendors selling Trump memorabilia set up just off campus. Students navigated a long line that stretched from Zorn Arena past Schofield Hall and McIntyre Library and up the Garfield Avenue Hill on their way to classes.
By early afternoon campus police cordoned off sidewalks and portions of Garfield Avenue to control the crowds.
