Wisconsin has witnessed nature writers such as Aldo Leopold and John Muir, and Eau Claire community members recently came together again to celebrate local nature writers. Around 200 people came to the State Theater Tuesday, February 28th, to listen writers share excerpts of their stories and deliberate environmental policy. The writers included Dr. Kathy Schneider, Steve Betchkal, John Hildebrand and B.J. Hollars.

Steve Betchkal, pictured here, was one of four speakers at the event. He has been venerated for his work with an emmy and a Sierra Club award. © Lara Bockenstedt 2017
