University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire administrators say that radio listeners soon will be able to listen to 99.9 FM to hear the latest Blugold sports, music, lectures and more.
Mid-West Family Broadcasting is giving the UW-Eau Claire Foundation a radio station license, tower and other broadcast equipment with a net worth of $1 million.
The gift comes after Mid-West Family Broadcasting exceeded the number of radio stations they could own in a single market.
“We needed to divest of one station,” said Lynn Bieritz, general manager of Mid-West Family Broadcasting. “Education was our first thought and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was our first call.” This will be the second radio station on campus. The FCC is expected to officially approve the transfer by July 1.
